CHC30113 Early Childhood Education and Care

course details

  • This course runs for 29-weeks, over an 8-month period.

  • Classes are run weekly on Tuesdays at the Greenhouse Education Training Centre in Clarkson.

  • You are also able to attend a Study Workshop, for added learning assistance, every Thursday.

  • You will receive experience via hands-on practical application of learning concepts in a safe, simulated workplace environment prior to being assessed in an actual workplace.

  • You will be allocated a highly experienced and qualified Trainer / Assessor who, in addition to delivering your weekly class and Study Workshop, will also provide support over the phone, via email or face-to-face as required.

  • During your enrolment process you will be guided through all training and assessments, in detail, to ascertain what units are most suitable to your needs and what support strategies are necessary to assist you in completing your qualification.

  • You will be required to complete a work placement of a minimum 120-hours in an allocated professional environment (see below for more details).

You will have the opportunity to undertake your Practical Placement at our partner Before & After School Centres and Early Learning Centres. If you are already employed or have a placement arranged, then this will be used. Greenhouse Education will arrange a suitable Work Placement for you at the time of your Enrolment Interview unless you are already employed within the Childcare or After School Care industry.

Certificate IV

CHC40113 - Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care

This course will provide you with the skills necessary to become an effective and highly valued employee in an Outside of School Hours Care service. This includes Before and After School Care and Vacation Care for school aged children.

This certificate will also make you eligible to coordinate an Outside of School Hours Care service.

This is a practical program, delivered by skilled and experienced trainers who help mentor current coordinators whom are running Outside of School Hours Care services.

recognition of prior learning

If you currently hold a CHC30113 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, you are able to apply for mutual recognition and recognition of prior learning. You will therefore only be required to complete the additional units in this course in order to be awarded the CHC40113 - Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care.

assessments

There are assessments throughout the duration of this course, as well as assignments due to be handed in within 4-weeks from the completion of all your classes. You will receive guidance and support from your Trainer throughout the assessment process and are free to ask questions at any time.

  • Understanding and reporting 'Children at risk'

This course consists of 19 units, grouped into six unit 'Clusters'. Clusters are grouped around common skill and knowledge areas, making it easy to correlate learning across units and get a feel for the bigger picture.

fees and payment

The total cost of this course via our fee for service, classroom based delivery method:

  • $3,200 if paying upfront via our Rapid Payment Plan

  • $3,500 if using our EziDebit Payment Plan (Weekly or Fortnightly)

INITIAL PAYMENT

We require an initial payment of  $500 at the time of your Enrolment Interview. We explain the Enrolment Process a little further down the page in more detail.

 

PAYMENT PLAN

If you select our Payment Plan option, payments will be made via EziDebit (a direct debit system) and due in either weekly or fortnightly installments. A copy of the Weekly and Fortnightly Payment Schedules for Certificate IV are available to download at the button below.

We take great care in our Enrolment Process as we want to make sure that Childcare is a good fit for you. Therefore, after you complete the simple 'enquire now' form below, we ask you to come in and meet with one of our Trainers for an Enrolment Interview. We'll be in touch to arrange this.

 

AT YOUR ENROLMENT INTERVIEW YOU WILL BE ASKED TO:

  • Complete your Enrolment Application Form

  • Sit a short Literacy and Numeracy Test

  • Pay your $500 initial payment to secure your position in the course and commence Payment Plan or Pay fees in full

  • Receive your formal acceptance to Greenhouse, Student Handbook and Student Portal log-in
