CHC50113 - Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

This course will provide you with the skills necessary to become an effective room leader within a Early Learning Childcare Centre and will give you the skills and knowledge to assist other educators in implementing sound curriculums, allowing the children in your care to grown and learn. 


This certificate will also make you eligible to coordinate an Early Learning Childcare Centre.​

Recognition of Prior Learning

If you currently hold a CHC30113 - Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, you are able to apply for mutual recognition and recognition of prior learning. You will therefore only be required to complete the additional units in this course in order to be awarded the CHC50113 - Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

Course Details

This course runs for a period of between 12-24 months.

  • You will be allocated a highly experienced and qualified Trainer / Assessor who will also provide support over the phone, via email or face-to-face as required, students are usually seen at least once a month in the workplace.
  • You will be required to complete a work placement, of a minimum 240-hours, in an allocated professional environment. If you are already employed within an Early Learning service, your normal work hours are counted towards the 240-hours.
  • During your enrolment process you will be guided through all training and assessments, in detail, to ascertain what units are most suitable to your needs and what support strategies are necessary to assist you in completing your qualification.

The total cost of this course:

If undertaken though a Traineeship pathway the current fees for this course are based on the West Australian Department of Training and Workforce Development’s current VET Fees and Charges Policy. Non-Concession Fee 25 years + $1.62 per nominal hour commenced in a calendar year, capped at $1200 per year Non-Concession Fee Youth 17 - 24 years $1.62 per nominal hour commenced in a calendar year, capped at $400 per year Concession $0.48 per nominal hour commenced in a calendar year

Fee for Service: $5000.00
